      Summary:
      A winter storm will shift across the Canadian Maritimes Monday with gusty winds, hazardous seas, and heavy high elevation snow lingering over the Northeast states. Another front will move over the Northwest U.S. into the middle of this week bringing gusty winds and heavy mountain snow to the region. Dry, gusty winds will bring critical fire weather to the southern and central Plains Monday. Impacted Lanes: I-90, I-5, I-84, I-80, I-40, I-15, I-26, I-81, I-77, I-70, I-68, I-99, I-76, I-95, I-88, I-91, I-93

      New York
      Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 8 PM EDT this evening

      • Heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations of up to 4 inches, with the highest amounts north of Route 28. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph.
      • Impacts: Plan on difficult travel conditions. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.

      Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 8 PM EDT this evening

      • Snow. Additional snow accumulations up to 4 inches for a storm total of up to 3 to 9 inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 to 50 mph this afternoon, especially on east facing slopes.
      • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.

      Wind Advisory remains in effect until 11 PM EDT this evening

      • Northwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.
      • Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. 

      North Carolina
      Wind Advisory remains in effect until 12 PM EDT today

      • Northwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts of 40 to 50 mph.
      • Impacts: Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

      High Wind Warning remains in effect until 12 PM EDT today

      • Northwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts of 50 to 60 mph.
      • Impacts: Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Some power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

      Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 11:59 PM EDT this evening

      • Up to 2 to 3 feet of inundation above ground level expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.
      • Impacts: 2 to 3 feet of inundation above ground level is possible in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways resulting in a low threat of property damage. Some roads and low lying property will experience shallow flooding.

      Coastal Flood Warning remains in effect until 8 AM EDT Tuesday morning

      • 2 to 4 feet of inundation above ground level expected in low- lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.
      • Impacts: 2 to 4 feet of inundation above ground level is possible in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways resulting in a low threat of property damage. Some roads and low lying property will experience shallow flooding.

      Summary:
      Heavy to excessive rainfall is expected over a portion of the southeastern states Friday, including the Birmingham and Atlanta metro areas. There is the potential for numerous instances of flash flooding. Severe thunderstorms are forecast in the Lower Mississippi Valley Friday. Tornadoes, large hail and damaging winds are possible. Impacted Lanes: I-80, I-5, I-84, I-25, I-76, I-29, I-35, I-44, I-55, I-20, I-30, I-45, I-49, I-22, I-24, I-40, I-75, I-65, I-64, I-70, I-69, I-57

      Wyoming
      Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 5 PM MST this afternoon

      • Heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches.
      • Impacts: Dangerous travel conditions due to icy, snow packed roads and reduced visibilities in falling snow.

      Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 11 AM MST this morning

      • Snow. Additional snow accumulations of up to two inches.
      • Impacts: Hazardous travel conditions due to icy, snow packed roads and reduced visibilities in falling and blowing snow. Whiteout conditions are possible in heavy snow showers. Plan for rapidly changing conditions.

      Missouri
      Flood Advisory remains in effect until 9:30 AM CST this morning

      • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
      • Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Some low-water crossings may become impassable.

      Delaware 
      Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM EST this morning

      • Up to one half foot of inundation above ground level expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.
      • Impacts: At this level, flooding begins on the most vulnerable roads along tidal waterways. Some partial or full road closures are possible.

      Oregon
      Wind Advisory remains in effect until 3 PM PST Saturday afternoon

      • South winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph expected.
      • Impacts: Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

      Alabama
      Flood Watch remains in effect until 3 PM CST Saturday afternoon

      • Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
      • Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Water over roadways is expected.

      Severe thunderstorms will be possible Thursday afternoon through Thursday night from southern Kansas to central Texas. Large hail and strong winds will be the primary hazards. Gusty winds and dry conditions will continue the elevated threat for wildfires in the central and southern High Plains. Critical fire weather conditions are expected across the southern High Plains Thursday.       Nebraska
      Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6 AM CST Friday morning

      • Heavy snow expected with freezing rain possible. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches with locally higher amounts and ice accumulations of a light glaze.
      • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions will impact the morning and evening commute.

      Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 5 AM MST Friday morning

      • Mixed precipitation. Total Snow accumulations of up to 4 inches and ice accumulations of a light glaze to a couple hundredths of an inch.
      • Impacts: Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.

      Texas
      High Wind Warning remains in effect until 11 PM MST this evening

      • West winds 35 to 50 mph with gusts up to 75 mph expected.
      • Impacts: Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles like campers, vans, and tractor trailers.

      Wind Advisory remains in effect until 11 PM MST this evening

      • West winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph expected.
      • Impacts: Gusty winds may blow around unsecured objects. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

      Maine
      Flood Warning remains in effect until 4 PM EST this afternoon

      • Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
      • Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, roadways, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.

      Flood Advisory remains in effect until 12:15 PM EST this afternoon

      • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall and snowmelt is expected.
      • Impacts: Minor flooding from small stream rises and ponding in low-lying areas. Water over roadways. 

      Flood Watch remains in effect until 7 PM EST this evening 

      • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
      • Impacts: Streams may rise out of their banks. Some urban areas may flood as well. Water over roadways.

      • Patchy dense fog with visibility less than one quarter of a mile.

A coastal storm will bring heavy rainfall and the threat of isolated flash flooding across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast today. Gusty winds and dry conditions will continue the elevated threat for wildfires in the central and southern High Plains today.       The snow and high winds along the Sierra Nevada and the Intermountain West is gradually waning. The threat of wildfires persist in the High Plains. Isolated strong to severe thunderstorms will be possible in portions of the Southern Great Plains into the Lower/Mid-Mississippi Valley on Monday, in addition to locally heavy rain in the central Gulf Coast.       California
      Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 4 PM PST Tuesday evening

      • Heavy snow Above 3500 ft. Additional snow accumulations of 5 to 8 inches. Most of the snow is expected to fall this afternoon and evening, then snow levels slowly rise tonight and early Tuesday.
      • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult.

      Wind Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM PST this morning

      • West winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 55 mph.
      • Impacts: Difficult driving conditions, especially for larger vehicles traveling along roads with crosswinds. Light, unsecured objects may become airborne. Minor tree damage possible.

      Wyoming
      High Wind Warning remains in effect until 11 AM MST Tuesday morning

      • West to southwest winds 35 to 45 MPH with gusts up to 65 MPH possible.
      • Impacts: Mainly to transportation. Strong cross winds will be hazardous to light weight or high profile vehicles, including campers and tractor trailers.

      Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 12 PM CST today

      • Blowing snow. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.
      • Impacts: Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions will impact the Monday morning commute.

      Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 9 AM CST this morning 

      • Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog.

      A powerful winter storm is underway across the west bringing heavy higher elevation mountain snow, dangerous blizzard for the Sierra Nevada Mountains, damaging winds, hazardous sea conditions and cold temperatures to much of the West through this weekend. Meanwhile, critical fire weather concerns increase this weekend for portions of the central and southern High Plains. Impacted Lanes: I-5, I-90, I-84, I-15, I-94, I-80, I-580, I-40, I-26, I-79, I-44

      California
      Wind Advisory remains in effect until 4 AM PST Saturday morning

      • Southwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph expected on high terrain.
      • Impacts: Wind gusts will be particularly strong along windward ridges. There is an increased risk of tree branches and other debris on roadways. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. 

      High Wind Warning remains in effect until 12 PM PST Sunday 

      • Southwest winds 35 to 45 mph with gusts to 80 mph expected. Isolated gusts to 90 mph.
      • Impacts: Strong winds could damage trees and other objects. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

      Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 6 AM PST Sunday morning

      • Wet snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches, locally 6 to 12 inches above 7500 feet. Winds gusting as high as 65 mph.
      • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult. Very strong winds could cause extensive tree damage.

      Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 10 AM PST Saturday morning

      • Periods of heavy snow and blowing snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches, but 1 to 2 feet in the mountains. Winds gusting 45 to 55 mph.
      • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult. Snow and blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility with occasional whiteout conditions possible. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.

      Blizzard Warning remains in effect until 10 AM PST Sunday morning

      • Extremely dangerous to impossible travel from blizzard conditions. Total snow accumulations of 5 to 10 feet above 5000 feet, local amounts of 12 feet or more over peaks, with 1 to 4 feet above 3000 feet through Sunday morning. Minor accumulations down to around 2000 feet. Winds gusting as high as 75 mph or higher.
      • Impacts: Extremely dangerous to impossible travel conditions with extended road closures likely. Widespread blowing snow will create blizzard conditions with white-out conditions and near zero visibility. Very strong winds, combined with heavy snow could cause extensive tree damage and extended power outages.

      Oklahoma
      Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM CST this morning

      • Visibility one-quarter mile or less in dense fog.
      • Impacts: Hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility.

      Summary:
      A line of thunderstorms will continue to push across the east coast Wednesday evening. A few of these storms may become strong to severe with the main threat being damaging winds. Meanwhile on the west coast, another significant winter storm is expected to begin late Wednesday and last through the weekend. Impacts include heavy mountain snow, heavy rain and gusty winds. Impacted Lanes: I-80, I-50, I-5, I-90, I-82, I-84, I-15, I-40, I-27, I-20, I-35, I-45, I-49, I-55, I-81, I-88, I-87, I-93, I-95, I-75

      California
      Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 10 AM PST Saturday morning

      • Heavy snow and blowing snow expected. Total snow of 10 to 20 inches, except 2 to 4 feet above 4000 feet. Winds gusting 40 to 60 mph, highest over the higher terrain.
      • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Areas of snow and blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility with occasional whiteout conditions possible. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.

      Blizzard Warning remains in effect until 10 AM PST Sunday morning

      • Total snow accumulations of 5 to 10 feet above 5000 feet, local amounts of 12 feet or more over peaks, with 1 to 4 feet above 3000 feet through Sunday morning. Minor accumulations down to around 2000 feet. Winds gusting as high as 75 mph or higher.
      • Impacts: Extremely dangerous to impossible travel conditions with extended road closures likely. Widespread blowing snow will create blizzard conditions with white-out conditions and near zero visibility. Very strong winds, combined with heavy snow could cause extensive tree damage and extended power outages.

      Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM PST Friday morning

      • Wet snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 2 and 6 inches on high passes. Winds gusting as high as 55 mph on high terrain.
      • Impacts: Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Tire chains may be necessary if travelling through mountain passes. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches. Visibilities may drop below 1/4 mile due to falling and blowing snow. The strong winds and weight of snow on tree limbs may down power lines and could cause sporadic power outages.

      High Wind Warning remains in effect until 10 AM PST this morning

      • South winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 70 mph expected at high elevations.
      • Impacts: Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Wind gusts will be particularly strong along windward ridges and exposed coastal headlands.

      Wind Advisory remains in effect until 4 PM PST this afternoon

      Flood Warning remains in effect until further notice

      • Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
      • Impacts: At 17.5 feet, the Skokomish River will cause moderate flooding, with deep and quick flood waters inundating some residential areas, and many roads. Inundated roads include the Skokomish Valley road, Bourgault Road West, Purdy Cutoff Road, and Highway 106.

      Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6 AM PST Friday morning

      • Heavy snow above 1500 feet. Additional snow accumulations of 4 to 12 inches, except 10 to 20 inches above 2500 feet. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.
      • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult. Patchy blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility.

      Wind Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM PST this morning

      • South winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.
      • Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

      • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.

      • Heavy lake effect snow. Additional snow accumulations of 6 to 11 inches in the most persistent lake snows. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.
      • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult. Widespread blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the evening commute.

      Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 2 PM EST this afternoon

      • Lake effect snow. Additional snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches, except locally 5 inches over the far northern portion of the county. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.
      • Impacts: Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute.

      Severe storms capable of producing large hail, damaging winds, and tornadoes, some of which could be strong will be possible in the Midwest and Ohio Valley through tonight. A strong winter storm continues to produce impacts across the west including heavy snow, gusty winds and rain. Critical fire weather conditions will continue across the Texas Panhandle into Oklahoma through this evening. Impacted Lanes: I-80, I-50, I-5, I-90, I-84, I-10, I-20, I-35, I-49, I-24, I-65, I-840, I-40, I-75, I-64, I-77, I-70, I-71, I-94, I-96, I-66, I-95, I-99, I-86, I-81, I-88, I-87

      Kentucky
      Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 11 AM EST this morning

      • Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
      • Impacts: Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

      Flood Advisory remains in effect until 11 AM EST this morning

      • Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
      • Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. 

      Flood Watch remains in effect until 7 PM EST this evening

      • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
      • Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, roadways, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks.

      Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 10 AM PST Friday morning

      • Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations up to 16 inches. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph.
      • Impacts: Visibilities may drop below 1/4 mile due to falling and blowing snow. The strong winds and weight of snow on tree limbs may down power lines and could cause sporadic power outages. Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Tire chains may be necessary if travelling through mountain passes. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches. 

      Blizzard Warning remains in effect until 10 AM PST Saturday morning

      • Snow accumulations 4 to 8 feet above 6000 feet. Total snow 2 to 4 feet from 5000 feet to 6000 feet. Snowfall 1 to 3 feet from 4000 feet to 5000 feet. Total snow accumulations 1 to 2 feet above 2500 feet. Winds may gust as high as 65 mph on exposed ridgetops and along the crest.
      • Impacts: Travel will be extremely difficult and dangerous to impossible. Widespread blowing snow can reduce visibility to near zero with whiteout conditions. Strong winds and heavy snow load could cause tree damage and power outages.

      High Wind Warning remains in effect until 1 PM EST Thursday afternoon

      • West winds 20 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph expected.
      • Impacts: Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

      • West winds 20 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph expected.
      • Impacts: Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Trees and tree limbs could be blown down and some power outages may result. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

      Lake Effect Snow Warning remains in effect until 7 PM EST Thursday evening

      • Heavy lake effect snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 9 inches in the most persistent lake snows. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph will produce extensive blowing and drifting snow and near blizzard conditions at times.
      • Impacts: Travel will be very difficult. Areas of blowing snow will significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions will impact the morning commute on Thursday.

      Flood Watch remains in effect until 7 AM EST Thursday morning

      • Flooding caused by rain and snowmelt continues to be possible.
      • Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, roadways, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded.

      • West winds 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 70 mph expected.
      • Impacts: Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles like campers, vans, and tractor trailers. Blowing dust can reduce visibility suddenly to zero, especially in areas where bare fields exist. Gusty winds may blow around unsecured objects.

      • West winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph expected.
