We'd like to introduce you to Jess Crawford, Recruiting Specialist for Jarrett. Read her answers to the questions below to find out more about Jess!
How long have you been at Jarrett?
I have been at Jarrett since September 2018.
What is the best part of working in your department?
My team! We each have areas that we focus, but if another team member needs help we all jump in. We also do team building outside of work every few months and usually challenge each other in something, whether it be an escape room, bowling or game night.
Favorite memory at Jarrett so far?
I have had so many great memories since I started at Jarrett. A favorite that sticks out is the day the internship class started last summer (2019). We had so much fun getting to know each of them and helping them feel welcomed at Jarrett. I enjoyed seeing how quickly the interns bonded with each other and it was fun to see that continue during the summer.
What is your favorite quote?

Which employee perk that Jarrett offers do you enjoy the most? Why?
My favorite employee perk is the wellness program! The program not only keeps me motivated to live a healthier lifestyle, but I get to use the money earn to pay for my gym membership and other wellness related items.
Who has been a mentor for you here at Jarrett? How have they helped you?
I have two, both Rob Churgovich and TJ Dalenberg have been wonderful mentors for me since I began my career with Jarrett. They both have extensive knowledge and I have learned so much from each of them. They continue to push me to grow in my role.
What would you name the autobiography of your life?
In Process! I learn more and grow every year, and never want that to end.
How is Jarrett “different”? (Compared to other company cultures you may have experienced)
At Jarrett the core values are visible in the day to day work environment. The team environment and emphasis put on collaboration and innovation is refreshing and different from other places I’ve worked.
The involvement Jarrett has within the community and the opportunities we are given to give back is something that I really enjoy and look forward to!
How is Jarrett “different”? (Compared to other competitive, similar logistics services)
We have great people! I hear stories frequently about employees going above and beyond for customers and I think this truly sets us apart in the industry. Walking through the JLS Routing Center or PackShip and hearing the conversations going on with our customers, some about shipments and some about their dogs or what they did last weekend, those conversations are what set us apart!
Share a time you felt valued or appreciated by someone at Jarrett or by a customer.
I was part of the hiring process for the 2019 summer internship class, but didn’t have anything to compare it to as it was my first internship class since starting with Jarrett. We received very positive feedback at the end of the summer from managers about the internship class and it was exciting to be part of the recruiting efforts for them!
