U.S. Weather Update 9.19.25

Summary:
Heavy rain showers and thunderstorms, some severe, will persist across the Plains and Mississippi Valley through Friday. Increasing tropical moisture from the remnants of Mario will bring showers, thunderstorms, and a flash flooding threat across much of southern California into the Desert Southwest through Friday

Impacted Lanes: I-5, I-90, I-40


New Mexico 
 Flood Watch remains in effect until 9/19/25 night.

  • Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
  • Impacts: Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 9/19/25 night.

  • Life threatening flash flooding. 

Nevada

Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 9/19/25 night.

  • Life threatening flash flooding.

California 

Flood Watch remains in effect until further notice.

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
  • Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-laying and flood-prone locations

Arizona
Flood Watch remains in effect until further notice.

  •      Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

 


 

Additional Dense Fog Advisories include but are not limited to:  Montana, North Carolina, and Maryland  

Additional Flood Advisory includes Oklahoma and North Dakota.
