U.S. Weather Update 9.12.25

Summary:
A stationary front will continue to bring heavy to excessive rainfall to South Florida into Saturday with localized and urban flooding possible. Heavy to excessive rainfall is forecast through Saturday over the southern Rockies into the northern Plains. Instances of flash flooding are possible, especially in higher terrain and burn scars. Impacted Lanes: I-70, I-94, I-20-59.


North Dakota
Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 8 AM CDT this morning.

  • Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
  • Impacts: Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses, as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

South Dakota
Flood Warning remains in effect until further notice.

  • Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
  • Impacts: Flooding of the lower-lying agricultural areas begins. 

Wisconsin
Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM CDT this morning.

  • Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog.
  • Impacts: Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous. Be alert for sudden reductions in visibility during the morning commute.

Colorado
Flood Watch remains in effect through this evening.

  • Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
  • Impacts: Excessive runoff from strong thunderstorms may result in debris flows and flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
