U.S. Weather Update 9.02.25

Summary:
Hot to extremely hot temperatures are in place much of this week across parts of California and the interior Northwest U.S, with the Pacific Northwest carrying the potential for record-breaking high temperatures. Monsoonal moisture over the Southwest U.S. may lead to heavy rainfall and instances of flash flooding through Wednesday. Impacted Lanes: I-94, I-35, I-94, I-60, I-55, I-22, I-59, I-8, I-10. 


Nebraska
Flood Warning remains in effect until 1 AM CDT Wednesday.

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
  • Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.

Oklahoma
Flood Advisory remains in effect until 8:15 AM CDT this morning.

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
  • Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. 

South Dakota
Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM CDT this morning.

  • Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog.
  • Impacts: Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous.

California
Flood Watch remains in effect from Tuesday morning through Wednesday evening.

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
  • Impacts: Flooding from thunderstorms and showers may occur in poor-drainage and urban areas.  Peak rain rates may reach 0.5 to 1.0 inches per hour. 

Additional Flood Warnings include but are not limited to: Arkansas, Florida, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, Texas, and South Dakota

Additional Flood Advisories include but are not limited to:  California and Oklahoma 

Additional Dense Fog Advisories include but are not limited to: Nebraska and South Dakota

Additional Flood Watches include but are not limited to: California and Nevada
