U.S. Weather Update 8.21.25

Summary:
Tropical storm conditions, storm surge flooding and coastal flooding continue today across the Outer Banks and portions of the Mid-Atlantic coast. Life-threatening rip currents and high surf continue to impact much of the East Coast through the end of the week. Hazardous, record heat will continue across the Western U.S. through the weekend.  Impacted Lanes:  I-94, I-10, I-69, I-12, I-69, I-45, I-26, I-85


Iowa
Flood Warning remains in effect until tomorrow morning.

  • Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
  • Impacts: Flood waters begin to impact low-lying areas...and some roads along the river.

Texas
Flood Advisory remains in effect until 7:30 AM CDT this morning.

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
  • Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. 

Minnesota
Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 9 AM EDT this morning.

  • Visibility less than a quarter mile in dense fog.
  • Impacts: Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous.
