Hurricane Erin continues to track northward. Tropical storm force winds, storm surge conditions will increase for the Outer Banks today and portions of coastal Virginia. Life-threatening surf and rip currents along much of the east coast of the U.S. this week. Major to extreme Heat Risk with new record high temperatures are expected for many areas of the western U.S. this week. Minnesota
Flood Warning remains in effect from now until Thursday night.
- Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
- Impacts: Flood waters begin to impact low-lying areas and some roads along the river.
New Jersey
Coastal Flood Warning remains in effect until 6 PM EDT Friday.
- One to two feet of inundation above ground level expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.
- Impacts: Widespread roadway flooding occurs in coastal and bayside communities and along inland tidal waterways. Many roads become impassable. Locally major flooding impacts are possible.
Oklahoma
Flood Advisory remains in effect until further notice.
- Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
- Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor-drainage areas.
North Carolina
Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 8 PM EDT this evening.
- Up to one-half foot of inundation above ground level expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.
- Impacts: Low-lying roads and locations along the Intracoastal Waterway and adjacent tidal creeks may observe minor coastal flooding. Check with local officials for any road closures or impacts.
Virginia
Coastal Flood Watch remains in effect from Thursday afternoon through Friday afternoon.
- One to three feet of inundation above ground level is possible in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.
- Impacts: Numerous roads may be closed. Low-lying property including homes, businesses, and some critical infrastructure, may be inundated.
