U.S. Weather Update 8.13.25

Summary:
Heavy to excessive rainfall over the southern Appalachians may bring areas of flooding today. Gusty winds and low relative humidity will bring critical fire weather conditions to parts of the Great Basin and northern Rockies today and Thursday. Hot to extremely hot temperatures are in place through today across parts of the western U.S. Impacted Lanes: I-10, I-65, I-75, I-85, I-64, I-79, I-77, I-95


Alabama
Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 8:30 AM CDT this morning.

  • Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
  • Impacts: Flash flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

Wisconsin
Flood Warning remains in effect until early Friday morning.

  • Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
  • Impacts:  Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.  Water over roadways and intersections.

Flood Advisory remains in effect until 8:30 AM CDT this morning.

  • Minor flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
  • Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.  Water over roadways.

Tennessee
Flood Watch remains in effect through this evening.

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
  • Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of creeks, streams, and low-lying locations.  Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

Arizona
Blowing Dust Advisory remains in effect from 5 PM this afternoon to 9 PM MST this evening.

  • Visibility between one-quarter and one mile in blowing dust is expected.
  • Impacts: Hazardous driving conditions due to reduced visibility.
