Summary:
Scattered strong to severe thunderstorms are expected today across the Mid-Atlantic and forecast to contain heavy to excessive rainfall. Numerous instances of flash flooding are possible in southern Virginia and north-central North Carolina. Severe thunderstorms are also possible across the northern Great Plains today. Elevated to Critical Fire Weather located across the Intermountain West. Impacted Lanes: I-12, I-10, 26, I-37, I-35, I-64, I-77, I-95, I-62, I-91


Texas
Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 9:45 AM CDT this morning.

  • Flooding caused by thunderstorms.
  • Impacts: Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. 

Flood Warning remains in effect until tomorrow evening

  • Minor Flooding is forecast.
  • Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. Some low-water crossings may become impassable

Mississippi
Flood Advisory remains in effect until tomorrow evening

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
  • Impacts: Flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. 

North Carolina
Flood Watch remains in effect through late this evening.

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
  • Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.
