U.S. Weather Update 7.8.25

Summary:
Scattered severe thunderstorms containing the potential for damaging wind gusts and excessive rainfall are possible from the Mid-Atlantic to southern New England today, with additional thunderstorms and heavy rain possible across parts of the Plains and Middle Mississippi Valley. Heat and humidity remain along the East Coast and Interior Northwest, while dangerous heat builds into the Southwest. Impacted Lanes: I-70, I-76, I-80, I-84, I-90, I-91


Texas
Flood Warning remains in effect until further notice.

  • Minor flooding is occurring and forecast to continue.
  • Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas and some roads along the river begin to experience flooding.

Flood Advisory remains in effect until 9:30 AM CDT this morning.

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected
  • Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. 

New Mexico
Flood Watch remains in effect from this afternoon until this evening

  • Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
  • Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.  Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.  Low-water crossings may be flooded.
