U.S. Weather Update 7.7.25

Summary:
Chantal is now a Tropical Depression. Flash flood concerns continue across portions of central North Carolina into Monday. Life-threatening surf and rip currents conditions are expected to continue at beaches along the U.S. East Coast from northeastern Florida to the Mid-Atlantic states during the next day or so. Flood Watches and recovery continue across central Texas. Impacted Lanes: I-90, I-62, I-91


Virginia
Flood Warning remains in effect until 4PM EDT this evening

  • Flooding caused by 4 to 8 inches of rainfall last night. 
  • Impacts: Flooding rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.  Numerous roads remain impassable due to flooding..

North Carolina
Flood Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM EDT this morning

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
  • Impacts: Flooding of low-lying and poor drainage areas, along with locations adjacent to swollen creeks, will persist.  Some roads may remain closed early this morning.

Texas
Flood Watch remains in effect until 5 PM EDT this evening

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
  • Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

North Dakota
Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 9 PM MDT this evening

  • Southwest winds 30 to 40 mph, with gusts up to 65 mph, are expected
  • Impacts: High winds may move loose debris, damage property and cause power outages. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles
