U.S. Weather Update 7.30.25

Summary:
A strong earthquake in the Pacific Basin has generated a tsunami wave. Tsunami Warnings and Advisories have been issued for Hawaii, portions of Alaska, Guam, American Samoa, and the West Coast of the U.S. Impacted Lanes: I-29, I-35, I-70, I-74, I-65, I-94, I-80


Iowa
Flood Warning remains in effect until 8 AM CDT this morning.

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
  • Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations in imminent or occurring.  Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable.

Oregon 
Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 9 AM PDT this morning.

  • Dense fog will reduce visibility to 1 mile or less.
  • Impacts: Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous.

Illinois
Storm Watch remains in effect until 6:45 AM CDT this morning.

  • Wind gusts up to 50 mph and minor flooding.
  • Impacts: Strong winds could break small tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects.  Slowing or redirecting of traffic due to ponding or flowing water.  Closure of waterfront access due to flooding.

New Mexico
Flood Watch remains in effect from Wednesday afternoon through Wednesday evening.

  • Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
  • Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood prone locations.
 

Additional Flood Warnings include but are not limited to: Arkansas, Illinois, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, and South Dakota, 

Additional Flood Watches include but are not limited to: Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, Montana, and New Mexico
