Summary:
Strong to severe thunderstorms and heavy rain will impact portions of the central Plains into the Upper Midwest and the Mid-Atlantic through the weekend. A stretch of unusually hot and humid weather is expected across portions of the central U.S. and the Southeast beginning this weekend and continuing through next week. The heat may reach dangerous levels, particularly mid to late next week. Impacted Lanes: I-20, I-55, I-59, I-65, I-40, I-70, I-75, I-64, I-95, I-77, I-79, I-95.

- Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
- Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations in imminent or occurring. It will take several hours for all the water from these storms to work through local drainage systems in urban areas.
Flood Advisory remains in effect until 9:30 AM EDT this morning.

- Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
