U.S. Weather Update 6.6.25

Summary:
A broad threat of scattered severe thunderstorms and heavy showers will exist across the central and southern High Plains into Sunday, including areas well off to the east into the Mid-South and Tennessee Valley. Smoke from Canadian wildfires will continue to bring unhealthy air quality conditions to portions of the Great Lakes and the central Plains. Impacted Lanes: . I-40, I-44, I-49, I-66, I-86, I-90, I-95


Oklahoma
Tornado Warning remains in effect until 7 AM CDT this morning.

  • Tornado
  • Impacts: Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  .

Missouri
Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 1 PM CDT this afternoon.

  • Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms, 65 mph wind gusts, and penny size hail.
  • Impacts: Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban  areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to trees and power lines.

Mississippi
Flood Advisory remains in effect until further notice.

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
  • Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

North Dakota
Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 9 AM MDT this morning.

  • Visibility a quarter mile or less in dense fog.
  • Impacts: Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous.

New Hampshire
Flood Watch in effect through Friday morning.

  • Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
  • Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.  Low-water crossings may be flooded. Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain.
