U.S. Weather Update 6.5.25

Summary:
Scattered to numerous severe thunderstorms are expected to expand further east each day from the southern High Plains to the Tennessee and Lower Ohio Valleys to the Southeast through Saturday. Heavy to excessive rainfall may bring flooding to parts of the Four Corners/Desert Southwest, coastal Carolinas, and southern Plains. Wildfire smoke will continue to bring unhealthy air quality to the US. Impacted Lanes: I-45, I-64, I-69, I-71, I-75, I-77, I-85.


Kansas
Flood Warning remains in effect until 8 AM CDT Thursday.

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected
  • Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.  Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. 

Kentucky
Flood Advisory remains in effect through this evening.

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
  • Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

Oklahoma
Flood Watch remains in effect from this evening through Friday afternoon.

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
  • Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying flood-prone locations.

Texas
Strong Thunderstorm Advisory remains in effect until 7 AM CDT this morning.

  • Wind gusts up to 40 mph and nickel-sized hail.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds could knock down small tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects.  Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible.

Additional Flood Warnings include but are not limited to: Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas.

Additional Flood Advisories include but are not limited to: Mississippi, and Missouri

Additional Flood Watches include but are not limited to: Kansas and Texas.
