U.S. Weather Update 6.4.25

Summary:
Scattered to numerous severe thunderstorms are expected to expand further east each day from the southern High Plains to the Tennessee and Lower Ohio Valleys today through Saturday. Heavy to excessive rainfall may bring flooding to parts of the Four Corners/Desert Southwest, coastal Carolinas, and Midwest regions today. Wildfire smoke will continue unhealthy air quality in the Midwest today. Impacted Lanes: I-40, I-44, I-55, I-70, I-72, I-74, I-75, I-80 and more.


Arizona
Flash Flooding Warning remains in effect until 5:45 AM MST this morning.

  • Life-threatening flash flooding caused by thunderstorms and excessive rainfall.
  • Impacts: Life-threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

Kansas
Flood Warning remains in effect until further notice.

  • Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
  • Impacts: Widespread flooding of agricultural and low-lying areas can be anticipated.  Several roads are inundated with flood waters, especially on the west side of town.

Mississippi 
Flood Advisory remains in effect until 9 AM CDT this morning.

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
  • Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

New Mexico
Flood Watch remains in effect through this morning.

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
  • Impacts: Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas
