U.S. Weather Update 6.27.25

Summary:
The prolonged and intense heat wave continues today for portions of the Ohio Valley and Mid-Atlantic, with relief expected by this weekend. There will be daily chances for severe thunderstorms and heavy rainfall in the northern Plains and Upper Midwest today through Sunday. Impacted Lanes: I-90, I-62, I-91


South Dakota
Flood Warning remains in effect until tomorrow evening

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected
  • Impacts: There are numerous road closures northwest area of Hutchinson due to high water. Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.  Some low-water crossings may become impassable

Mississippi
Flood Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM CDT this morning.

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
  • Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. 

North Dakota
Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM CDT this morning.

  • Visibility is less than one quarter mile in dense fog.
  • Impacts: Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous.

New Mexico
Flood Watch remains in effect through late Sunday night.

  • Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
  • Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

Additional Flood Warnings include but are not limited to: Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Texas,  Wisconsin

Additional Flood Advisories include but are not limited to:  Alabama, Michigan, Mississippi, Nebraska, Oklahoma, 

Additional Dense Fog Advisory include but are not limited to:  South Dakota

Additional Flood Watches include but are not limited to:  Illinois, Iowa, Maryland, New Mexico, Texas, and Wisconsin.
