U.S. Weather Update 6.19.25

Summary:
Strong to potentially severe thunderstorms with damaging wind gusts are forecast Thursday from parts of New England into the Mid Atlantic and Carolinas. Significant heat will expand across the West and Central Plains through Friday, potentially breaking daily high temperature records. Dangerous heat will then build into the Eastern U.S. this weekend through much of next week.. Impacted Lanes: I-10, I-40, I-75, I-88, I-90, I-91


Tennessee
Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 8:30 AM CDT.

  • Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
  • Impacts: Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

California
High Wind Warning remains in effect from 5 PM Thursday until 2 AM PDT Sunday.

  • West winds 30-40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines.  Travel will be difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles.

New York
Flood Warning remains in effect until 11 AM EDT this morning.

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
  • Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.

Tennessee
Flood Advisory remains in effect until 8 AM CDT this morning.

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
  • Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

Additional Flood Warnings include but are not limited to: Arkansas, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Texas
Additional Flood Advisories include but are not limited to: Kentucky, Mississippi, and Oklahoma.

Additional Wind Advisories include but are not limited to: New York and Nevada.
