U.S. Weather Update 6.18.25

Summary:
Strong to severe storms may produce damaging winds, isolated hail, and a few tornadoes from the Midwest into the lower Great Lakes. These storms may also produce areas of heavy rain and flash flooding. Significant heat will continue across parts of the Desert Southwest into western Texas and north Alaska. Dangerous heat will also build into the Eastern and Central U.S. and continue into next week. Impacted Lanes: I-35, I-40, I-70, I-76, I-81, I-87, I-90, I-I-91


Oklahoma
Severe Thunderstorm Warning remains in effect until 7:15 AM CDT.

  • Quarter size hail and 60 mph wind gusts.
  • Impacts: Expect damage to roofs, siding and vehicles.

Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 7:00 AM CDT.

  • Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
  • Impacts: Flash flooding in urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

Flood Advisory remains in effect until 9:15 AM CDT.

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
  • Impacts: Minor Flooding in urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

Kansas
Flood Warning remains in effect until Thursday morning.

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
  • Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occuring.

Flood Watch remains in effect until 1 PM MDT this afternoon.

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
  • Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. 

Additional Flood Warnings include but are not limited to: Alabama, Arkansas, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina, South Dakota, and Texas.

Additional Flood Advisories include but are not limited to: Arkansas and Mississippi. 

Additional Flood Watches include but are not limited to: Oklahoma.
