U.S. Weather Update 6.16.25

Summary:
Scattered severe thunderstorms capable of producing severe gusts, large hail, and perhaps a couple of tornadoes are forecast from the north-central High Plains into the Upper Mississippi Valley. Widespread thunderstorms may produce excessive rainfall across portions of the Ohio Valley and Mid-Atlantic. Hot conditions and Critical Fire Weather looms over the Great Basin and Southwest through midweek. Impacted Lanes: I-10, I-49, I-55, I-59, 9 I-69, I-75, I-80, I-95


Maryland
Flood Warning remains in effect from this morning to tomorrow evening.

  • Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
  • Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.

Arkansas
Flood Advisory remains in effect until further notice.

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
  • Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.  Water over roadways.

West Virginia
Flood Watch remains in effect through this evening

  • Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
  • Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, urban areas, and other low-lying and flood prone areas.
 
Additional Flood Warnings include but are not limited to:  Georgia, Missouri, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia.
 

Additional Flood Advisories include but are not limited to: Mississippi, Oklahoma and Texas.

Additional Flood Watches include but are not limited to:  Kentucky, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.
