Summary:
Multiple rounds of thunderstorms are forecast to impact portions of the Southern Plains, Mid-South, and Tennessee Valley through Memorial Day. Severe thunderstorms may produce large hail, severe wind gusts, and a few tornadoes. Excessive rainfall is also likely and may result in scattered to numerous instances of flash flooding. Impacted Lanes: I-20, I-55, I-10, I-49
Louisiana
Severe Thunderstorm Warning remains in effect until further notice.
- Severe thunderstorm located near Pride, or 7 miles east of Zachary, moving east at 40 mph
- Hazard 60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.
- Impacts: Expect damage to roofs, siding and trees.
Severe Thunderstorm Watch 336 is in effect until 1:00 pm CDT
Mississippi
Flood Advisory remains in effect until Wednesday
- Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected
- Impacts: following rivers in Louisiana, Mississippi and Arkansas
Oklahoma
Flood Warning remains in effect until this evening
- Minor flooding is forecast
- Lee Creek near Van Buren Red River at Arthur City affecting Choctaw County.
- Impacts: at 25.0 feet, faster flows are expected along the river but no flooding occurs. Interests near the river should continue to monitor later forecasts
- Some local and country roads in the floodplain may become impassable.
Flood Watch remains in effect from 2 pm EDT this afternoon through Wednesday morning.
- Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
- Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Total rainfall amounts in some places through tonight could exceed 5 inches.
