U.S. Weather Update 4.22.26

 A Pacific storm system will continue to bring low elevation rain and mountain snow to much of the West through Wednesday, with heavy mountain snow expected in the higher elevations of the Sierra Nevada. This system will also bring strong winds to the Intermountain West, Rockies, and Plains, which will create Critical fire weather conditions for the High Plains.  

California

Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until Wednesday afternoon. 

  • Total snow accumulations between 6 and 12 inches.

  • Winds gusting as high as 50 mph.    

Montana

Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until Wednesday afternoon. 

  • Total snow accumulations between 5 and 12 inches.

  • Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.    

 

Additional  Wind Advisory included but not limited to:  Washington, Oregon, California, Arizona, Nevada, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Kansas, South Dakota, North Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Florida, Georgia, and North Carolina.

Additional  Winter Weather Advisory included but not limited to:  Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming. 

Additional Flood Warning included but not limited to : Washington, Missouri, Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio. 

Additional Dense Fog included but not limited to: Texas.
