U.S. Weather Update 4.2.26

 A late season winter storm will produce a combination of heavy snow and disruptive ice starting this evening in the Northern Plains and moving into the Upper Midwest and Great Lakes by tonight continuing through Thursday. Severe thunderstorms will likely produce severe wind gusts, large hail, a few tornadoes, and heavy rainfall across the southern and central Plains into the morning. 

Oregon

Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 5 pm Thursday. 

  • Heavy snow possible. 
  • Total snow accumulations between 6 and 12 inches. 
  • Winds could gust as high as 35 mph.

Montana

Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until noon Friday. 

  • Heavy, wet snow possible. 
  • Total snow accumulations between 6 and 12 inches. 
  • Winds gusting as high as 35 mph. 

Wyoming

Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6 pm Friday.

  • Total snow accumulations between 3 and 6 inches.

  • Winds gusting as high as 50 mph. 

Minnesota

Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until noon Thursday. 

  • Heavy mixed precipitation is expected. 
  • Total snow and sleet accumulations around 2 inches and ice accumulations around one-quarter of an inch. 

Wisconsin

Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 10 pm Thursday. 

  • Heavy mixed precipitation is expected. 
  • Total snow and sleet accumulations around 2 inches and ice accumulations around one-quarter of an inch. 
  • Winds gusting as high as 30 mph. 

Ice Storm Warning remains in effect until 10 am Thursday. 

  • Significant icing is expected.

  • Ice accumulations between two-tenths and four-tenths of an inch. 

Michigan

Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 11 pm Friday. 

  • Total snow and sleet accumulations up to 2 inches. 

  • Ice accumulations around two-tenths of an inch.
  • Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.

Maine

Winter Storm Watch remains in effect until 5 pm Friday. 

  • Heavy mixed precipitation is expected. 

  • Total snow accumulations between 4 and 7 inches. 

  • Sleet accumulations up to 1 inch.

  • Ice accumulations up to one tenth of an inch.  

 

 Additional High Wind Advisory included but not limited to:   Oregon, California, Nevada, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Arizona, Colorado, Arkansas, Missouri, Iowa, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, Indiana, Michigan,  and North Carolina.

Additional Winter Weather Advisory included but not limited to:  Washington, Oregon, California, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine.

 Additional Flood Warning included but not limited to: Kansas, Texas, Missouri, Indiana, Ohio, and New York. 

Additional Dense Fog including but not limited to: North Dakota, Indiana, Kentucky,  Ohio, and Pennsylvania.
