U.S. Weather Update 4.17.26

 Severe thunderstorms are expected from the Northeast to Texas through the night and for the Central/Southern Plains on Friday. Considerable flooding impacts are ongoing in the Upper Great Lakes, and expected to continue through the weekend. Fire weather concerns persist in the Plains and the mid-Atlantic. There is late-season snow over the Northern/Central Rockies and the Northern Plains. 

Iowa

Flood Warning remains in effect until Friday afternoon.

  • Minor flooding is occurring. 

Minnesota

Flood Warning remains in effect until further notice. 

  • Minor flooding is occurring.  

Wisconsin

Flood Warning remains in effect until further notice. 

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall.  

Michigan

Flood Warning remains in effect until Sunday. 

  • Flooding caused by rain and snowmelt continues.

Missouri

Flood Warning remains in effect until further notice.

  • Minor flooding is occurring.

Illinois

Flood Warning remains in effect until further notice. 

  • Minor flooding is occurring.   

Indiana

Flood Warning remains in effect until further notice. 

  • Minor flooding is occurring.   

 

Additional Winter Weather Advisory included but not limited to:  Wyoming, Colorado, North Dakota, and Minnesota.

Additional Wind Advisory included but not limited to: California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, Colorado, South Dakota, Oklahoma, and Texas.

Additional Dense Fog included but not limited to: Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, and New York. 

Additional Flood Watch included but not limited to : Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Michigan.
