U.S. Weather Update 4.1.26

 A slow moving front extending from the Great Lakes region into the Plains will bring snow, wintry mix, and ice accumulation north of the front from the Upper Midwest into New England, and severe weather and heavy rain south of the front. Scattered severe thunderstorms with damaging gusts, severe hail, and heavy rain are expected across parts of the Great Lakes/Midwest through tonight. 

Oregon

Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 5 pm Thursday. 

  • Heavy snow possible. 
  • Total snow accumulations between 10 to 18 inches, expect 16 to 24 inches above 5500 feet. 
  • Winds could gust as high as 40 mph.

Montana

Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until noon Friday. 

  • Heavy, wet snow possible. 
  • Total snow accumulations between 7 and 11 inches. 

Minnesota

Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until noon Thursday. 

  • Heavy mixed precipitation is expected. 
  • Total snow and sleet accumulations around 2 inches and ice accumulations around one-quarter of an inch. 
  • Winds gusting as high as 30 mph. 

Wisconsin

Winter storm Warning remains in effect until 10 pm Thursday. 

  • Heavy mixed precipitation is expected. 
  • Total snow and sleet accumulations around 2 inches and ice accumulations around one-quarter of an inch. 
  • Winds gusting as high as 30 mph. 

Ice Storm Warning remains in effect until 10 am Thursday. 

  • Significant icing is expected.

  • Ice accumulations between two-tenths and four-tenths of an inch. 

New York

Flood Watch remains in effect until Wednesday evening. 

  • Flooding caused by heavy rain and snowmelt is possible. 

 

 Additional High Wind Advisory included but not limited to:   Oregon, California, Nevada, Idaho, Montana, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas,  Kansas, and North Carolina.

Additional Winter Weather Advisory included but not limited to:  Washington, Oregon, California, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Colorado, North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Maine.

 Additional Flood Warning included but not limited to: Kansas, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and New York. 

Additional Dense Fog including but not limited to: Alabama, Florida, and Georgia.
