U.S. Weather Update 3.9.26

 Gusty winds and low relative humidity will contribute to critical fire weather Monday over parts of the central and southern High Plains. Scattered to widespread severe thunderstorms may bring damaging winds, large hail, and tornadoes Monday through Thursday over the lower Mississippi River Valley and southern Plains into the Midwest and Ohio Valley.  

Washington

Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 5 am Tuesday.

  • Total snow accumulations between 12 and 18 inches.

  • Winds gusting as high as 35 mph

Flood Warning remains in effect until 6 pm today. 

  • Flooding caused by rain and snowmelt is expected for the lower Stehekin Valley.

Louisiana

Flood Warning remains in effect until early Tuesday afternoon. 

  • Minor flooding of the Tangipahoa River is occurring. 

Arkansas

Flood Warning remains in effect until further notice. 

  • Minor flooding of the Cache River.

Missouri

Flood Warning remains in effect until Tuesday afternoon. 

  • Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecasted for the Meramec River.

Illinois

Flood Warning remains in effect until late Thursday evening. 

  • Minor flooding is occurring for the following rivers Little Wabash River and Embarras River.

Indiana

Flood Watch remains in effect until Wednesday. 

  •  Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecasted for the following rivers, White River, and Wabash River. 

Maine

Winter Storm Watch remains in effect from Wednesday morning through Thursday morning

  • Heavy mixed precipitation is possible. 

  • Total snow and sleet accumulations greater than 4 inches. 
  • Total ice accumulations up to one quarter of an inch. 
 

 

Additional Dense Fog included but not limited to: Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama,  Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, Kentucky, Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, North Carolina, and South Carolina.  

 Additional High Wind Advisory included but not limited to:   Idaho, Wyoming, and New York.

Additional Winter Weather Watch included but not limited to: Washington, Oregon, Montana, and Wyoming.
