U.S. Weather Update 3.5.26

 Several rounds of severe thunderstorms and heavy rain are forecast from the southern Plains to the Midwest through Friday. Large hail, damaging wind gusts, and tornadoes are possible. A significant warm-up is expected for much of the Eastern U.S. into next week. Several daily record temperature records are likely to be broken. Fire weather concerns will return to the central/southern High Plains.

 

Montana

Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 3 pm.

  • Total snow accumulations between 4 and 9 inches, 9 to 16 inches expected at elevations higher than 7000 feet.

  • Winds gusting as high as 35 mph

Colorado

Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from midnight Thursday night until Midnight Friday night.

  • Snow accumulations between 6 and 14 inches are expected. 

  • Winds gusting as high as 40 mph, 

Indiana

Flood Watch remains in effect until noon today. 

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. 

Ohio

Flood Watch remains in effect until 1 pm this afternoon

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. 

West Virginia

Flood Watch remains in effect until 1 pm this afternoon

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. 

 

 

Additional Dense Fog included but not limited to:  North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida.  

 Additional High Wind Advisory included but not limited to:  Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Idaho, Montana, and Arizona.

Additional Winter Weather Watch included but not limited to: Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Colorado, Minnesota, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island.
