U.S. Weather Update 3.16.26

 A major winter storm will continue to bring blizzard conditions, heavy snowfall, icing, and strong winds through Monday across the Upper Midwest and Upper Great Lakes. A line of storms will be capable of producing widespread damaging winds, tornadoes, and some large hail from the Mid-South to the Ohio Valley and the Southeast through tonight, moving into the Mid-Atlantic Monday. 

Iowa

Blizzard Warning remains in effect unitl 1 pm today.

  • Total snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches. 

  • Winds gusting as high as 55 mph.

Wisconsin

Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 4 pm Friday.

  • Total snow accumulations of 6 to 10 inches are expected. 

  • Winds gusting as high as 50 mph.

Michigan

Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 8 pm today. 

  • Total snow accumulations between 2 and 4 inches. 

  • Winds gusting as high as 45 mph.

 Blizzard Warning remains in effect until 7 pm tonight.

  • Total snow accumulations between 6 and 12 inches. 

  • Winds gusting as high as 50 mph.

New Hampshire

Flood Watch remains in effect until Tuesday afternoon.

  • Flooding caused by rain and snow melt continues to be possible. 

Maine

Flood Watch remains in effect until Tuesday afternoon. 

  • Flooding caused by rain and snowmelt continues to be possible. 

 

 

 Additional High Wind Advisory included but not limited to:   Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine.

Additional Winter Weather Watch included but not limited to:  Washington, Idaho, Montana, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Missouri, Illinois, Michigan, Kentucky, Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York, New Hampshire, and Maine.

Additional Flood Warning included but not limited to: Washington, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Illinois, Indiana, and New Hampshire. 

Additional Coast Flooding included but not limited to: Delaware and New Jersey.
