U.S. Weather Update 2.6.26

Summary:

An arctic cold front will quickly track across the Great Lakes, Northeast and mid-Atlantic. Snow showers and squalls will accompany this system with increasing winds and falling temperatures. Damaging wind gusts may result in tree damage and power outages. Meanwhile, moisture returns for the Pacific Northwest this weekend with both coverage and intensity of rainfall and higher elevation snows.

Oregon

Freezing Fog remains in effect through Friday afternoon.

  • Visibility one half mile or less in freezing fog. 

Nebraska

Flood Watch remains in effect through Monday evening.  

  • Flooding caused by ice jam is possible. 

West Virginia

Winter Storm Watch remains in effect from Friday morning through Saturday morning.  

  • Snow is expected, accumulations from 4 to 8 inches is expected.  
  • Winds gusts of 45 to 55 mph. 

Maryland

Winter Storm Watch remains in effect from Friday morning through Saturday morning. 

  • Snow is expected, accumulations from 6 to 8 inches is expected.  
  • Winds could gust as high as 60 mph.
 

 

Additional Dense Fog Advisory included but not limited to: Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio.

Additional High Wind Watch included but not limited to: Montana, North Dakota, Minnesota, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia,  Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, and New Jersey.

Additional Winter Weather Advisory included but not limited to : Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, North Carolina, Virginia. 

Additional Extreme Cold Watch including but not limited to: West Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey,  Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine.
