U.S. Weather Update 2.20.26

 Gusty winds and low relative humidity will bring critical fire weather to the southern High Plains Friday. A winter storm will track across the Great Lakes and Northeast U.S. Friday into Saturday with areas of wintry mix and heavy snow from northern New York through southern Maine. 

 

Oregon

Hydrologic Outlook remains in effect until further notice.

  • Heavy rain between 3 to 5 inches are expected.  

Utah

Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6 pm Friday.

  • Snow accumulations of 12 to 15 inches.

Colorado

Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 11 pm tonight. 

  • Snow accumulations up to 6 to 12 inches. 

  • North winds gusting as high as 55 mph. 

New Mexico

Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 11 pm tonight.

  • Snow accumulations up to 3 to 6 inches, with amounts up to 11 inches at higher elevations.
  • North winds gusting as high as 45 mph.

Arkansas

Flood warning remains in effect until Sunday Morning.

  • Minor flooding is expected along the Cache River.

Michigan

Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 7 pm this evening. 

  • Snow accumulations between 5 and 8 inches. 

Pennsylvania

Flood Advisory remains in effect until 1 pm today. 

  • Flooding caused by ice jams is possible. 

New York

Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from 10 am today until 10 am this Saturday.

  • Snow accumulations between 6 and 11 inches.

Vermont

Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from 10 am today until 10 am this Saturday.

  • Snow accumulations between 5 and 9inches.

New Hampshire

Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from noon today until 7 am this Saturday.

  • Snow accumulations between 5 and 8 inches.

Maine

Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from noon  today until 7am this Saturday.

  • Snow accumulations between 5 and 8 inches.

Additional Dense Fog Advisory included but not limited to: California, Texas, Indiana, Louisiana, Mississippi, Georgia, Florida, Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina.

 Additional High Wind Advisory included but not limited to: California, Arizona, Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota, Iowa, Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
