U.S. Weather Update 12.4.25

Summary:

An arctic cold front will move through the Great Lakes and Northeast on Thursday, bringing moderate to heavy snow, strong winds, and possible whiteout conditions through Thursday afternoon. A storm system interacting with Gulf moisture will bring moderate to heavy rainfall to the western and central Gulf Coast on Thursday. Isolated instances of flash flooding will be possible. 
 
 

California

Wind Advisory remains in effect until 3 PM today. 

  • Northeast winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts of 45 mph.    

Idaho

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from 7 AM today until 4 PM Friday. 

  • Snow is expected 2 to 8 inches. Snow accumulations of 5 to 13 inches at above 3000 feet.     
 

Wyoming

High Wing Warning remains in effect from 6 AM today until noon Friday. 

  • West Winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 65 mph expected.    

Colorado

Winter Storm Watch remains in effect from  Friday until Sunday.

  • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations between to 5 to 14 inches possible. 
  • Winds could gust as high as 35 mph.
Michigan
 

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 1 PM today.

  • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations from 2 to 4 inches. 
  • Winds gusting as high as 35 mph along the Lake Superior shores.   

Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from 1 PM this afternoon.

  • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations from 2 to 4 inches. 
  • Winds gusting between 30 mph will result in blowing snow.  
 

 

Additional Dense Fog Advisory included but not limited to : Washington, Oregon, Colorado, Kansas, and Texas, . 

Additional Costal Flooding Advisory included but not limited to : Louisiana and Massachusetts .

Additional Freezing Fog Advisory included but not limited to : Washington.

Additional Freezing Drizzle included but not limited to : Washington, Idaho, Montana, Arkansas, and Tennessee, 

Additional Winter Storm Watch included but not limited to : Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, and Utah. 

Additional Winter Weather Advisory included but not limited to : Texas, Oklahoma, Tennessee, North Carolina, West Virginia, Virginia, and New York.
