U.S. Weather Update 12.3.25

Summary:

A winter storm will impact the central Appalachians to the Northeast through the night. Accumulating snow is expected for interior New England and the northern Mid-Atlantic. Scattered showers and occasional thunderstorms will persist across Florida and the Southeast coast. Locally heavy mountain snow is expected in the Great Basin and Rockies over the next couple of days.
 
 

California

Wind Advisory remains in effect from 6 AM Wednesday to 3 PM Thursday. 

  • Northeast winds 25 to 40 mph with gusts of 40 to 60 mph.    
 

Colorado

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from 8 AM Wednesday to 8 PM this evening.

  • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations between to 2 to 10 inches. 

Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 8 AM Wednesday to 2 AM Thursday.

  • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations between to 8 to 18 inches in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. 

New Mexico
 

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from noon today to 5 AM Thursday.

  • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations from 1 to 4 inches. 
  • Snow accumulations from 4 to 8 inches are expected along the highest peaks of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. 

Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from 8 AM Wednesday to 2 AM Thursday.

  • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations from 6 to 12 inches. 
  • Snow accumulations up to 15 inches are expected along the eastern slopes of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. 
 
Michigan
 

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from 7 AM today until  7 AM Thursday.

  • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations from 3 to 4 inches. 
  • Winds gusting as high as 35 mph along the Lake Superior shores.   

Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from 1 PM this afternoon until  1 PM Thursday.

  • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations from 6 to 12 inches. 
  • Winds gusting between 25 to 30 mph will result in blowing snow.  
 

 

Additional Dense Fog Advisory included but not limited to : California. 

Additional Costal Flooding Advisory included but not limited to : California and Massachusetts .

Additional Freezing Fog Advisory included but not limited to : Washington, Oregon, and Missouri.
