U.S. Weather Update 12.2.25

Summary:

A storm system stretching from the Tennessee Valley to the Gulf Coast will bring a variety of hazards to the Eastern U.S. through Tuesday. On the south side of the system, heavy rain and thunderstorms will persist across the Southern U.S. Further north, a wintry precipitation mix is expected from the Central Appalachians to the interior Northeast through Tuesday.
 
 

Washington

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 11 AM. 

  • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 1 and 2 inches, locally up to 4 inches. 
  • Plan on slippery road conditions.   

Idaho

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from 7 PM this evening until 4 PM Tuesday. 

  • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 3 and 5 inches. 
  • Winter weather impacts, expect disruptions to normal activities.  

Montana

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 11 AM. 

  • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 2 and 5 inches. 
  • Wind gusting as high as 50 mph.  

Wyoming

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 11 PM this evening. 

  • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations up to 6 inches. 
  • Wind gusting as high as 45 mph.  

High Wind Warning remains in effect until 5 PM this afternoon. 

  • West winds 30 and 45 mph. 
  • Wind gusting as high as 65mph.  

Colorado

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 8 AM Wednesday to 2 AM Thursday.

  • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations between to 3 to 6 inches. 
  • Snow accumulations between 4 to 8 inches are expected at higher elevations. 
New Mexico
 

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from noon Wednesday to 6 AM Thursday.

  • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations from 2 to 4 inches. 
  • Snow accumulations between 4 to 8 inches are expected at higher elevations. 
West Virginia
 

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from 1 PM today.

  • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations from 1 to 3 inches. 
  • Plan on slippery road conditions. 
Pennsylvania
 

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from 1 PM today.

  • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations from 2 to 4 inches. 
  • Plan on slippery road conditions. 
New York 

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from 6 PM today.

  • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations from 3 to 6 inches. 
  • Plan on slippery road conditions. 
  • Localized snow accumulations of around 7 inches in higher elevations and lake effect snow areas. 
 
Virginia 

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from noon today.

  • Freezing rain with accumulations around two tenths of an inch.
  • Plan on slippery road conditions.
North Carolina

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from noon today.

  • Freezing rain with accumulations around two tenths of an inch.
  • Plan on slippery road conditions. 
 

 

Additional Dense Fog Advisory included but not limited to : California, Iowa, and Florida. 

Additional Winter Storm Warning included but not limited to :  Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine,  Massachusetts, and New York.

Additional Costal Flooding Advisory included but not limited to : California and South Carolina.

Additional Patchy Black Ice included but not limited to : Arkansas, Tennessee,
