U.S. Weather Update 12.12.25

Summary:

Catastrophic flooding and landslides will continue to bring a significant risk to life and property in Washington and northwest Oregon. Arctic air will bring near record cold temperatures and dangerous wind chills from the Northern High Plains into the Mid-South and Mid-Atlantic through the weekend. A narrow band of snow is likely from the Mid-West, Upper Ohio Valley into the Central Appalachians.
 

 

Washington

Flood Warning remains in effect from 7 AM today until Saturday morning. 

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall.
  • Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and low lying and flood prone locations.   
 

Idaho

Flood Warning remains in effect until until Saturday morning. 

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall and snowmelt.
  • Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and low lying and flood prone locations
 
Michigan
 

Winter Weather Warning remains in effect until 7 AM today until 7 PM Saturday.

  • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations from 3 to 6 inches.
  • Winds gusting as high as 35 mph. 
 
New York
 

Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from today through 4 AM Friday morning.

  • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations from 6 to 10 inches. 
  • Higher snow accumulations in areas affected by lake effect snow. 

 
Indiana 

Winter Storm Watch remains in effect from Saturday morning through Sunday morning.
  • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations from 4 to 6 inches. 
  •  
    Ohio

    Winter Storm Watch remains in effect from Saturday morning through Sunday morning.
  • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations from 4 to 6 inches. 
  •  
    West Virginia

    Winter Storm Watch remains in effect from Saturday afternoon through Sunday afternoon.
  • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations from 4 to 6 inches. 
  •  
    Pennsylvania

    Winter Storm Watch remains in effect from Saturday afternoon through Sunday late Sunday night.
  • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations from  6 inches. 
  • Higher snow accumulations in areas affected by lake effect snow.

    Additional Dense Fog Advisory included but not limited to : California, Oregon, Idaho, Texas, Illinois, and Indiana. 

    Additional Winter Storm Warning included but not limited to :  Montana, Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio. 

    Additional Winter Weather Advisory included but not limited to : Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, Vermont, and North Carolina.
