U.S. Weather Update 12.11.25

Summary:

The atmospheric river over the Pacific Northwest will begin to subside today, but lingering rainfall will exacerbate ongoing catastrophic major river flooding, and landslides will continue across portions of western Washington and northwest Oregon for several days. Arctic air will plummet southward into the Northern Plains today, bringing cold air in the single digits to the region by Friday.
 

 

Washington

Flood Warning remains in effect from 7 AM today until Friday morning. 

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall.
  • Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and low lying and flood prone locations.   
 

Idaho

Flood Watch remains in effect until Thursday afternoon. 

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall and snowmelt.
  • Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and low lying and flood prone locations
 
Michigan
 

Winter Weather Warning remains in effect until 4 PM today.

  • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations from 2 to 4 inches.
  • Winds gusting as high as 25 mph. 
 
New York
 

Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from today through 4 AM Friday morning.

  • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations from 6 to 10 inches. 
  • Winds gusting as high as 35 mph. This will produce blowing and drifting snow in open areas.

 
 
 
 

Additional Dense Fog Advisory included but not limited to : California, Oregon, Idaho, and Florida. 

Additional Costal Flooding Advisory included but not limited to : Washington.

Additional Winter Storm Warning included but not limited to :  Montana and New York. 

Additional Winter Weather Advisory included but not limited to : Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Minnesota,  Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, New York, Kentucky, Virginia, Vermont, and North Carolina.               

Additional Wind Advisory included but not limited to :  Washington, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, West Virginia, North Carolina, Virginia, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Illinois.
