U.S. Weather Update 12.10.25

Summary:

A prolonged atmospheric river will continue to impact the Pacific Northwest into the Northern Rockies with heavy rainfall, areas of urban and river flooding, landslides, heavy mountain snow, and gusty winds into Thursday. A strong clipper system will bring the threat of heavy snow and high winds across the Upper Midwest/Great Lakes as well as portions of the interior Northeast and Appalachians.
 

 

Washington

Flood Warning remains in effect from 7 AM today until Friday afternoon. 

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall.
  • Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and low lying and flood prone locations.   

 Oregon

 

Wind Advisory remains in effect from 7 PM today until 7 AM Saturday.

  • Winds gusting from 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.  

Idaho

Flood Watch remains in effect from 5 PM this afternoon until Thursday afternoon. 

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall and snowmelt.
  • Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and low lying and flood prone locations
 
Michigan
 

Winter Weather Warning remains in effect until 4 PM today.

  • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations from 1 to 3 inches. 
 
New York
 

Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from 7 PM today through 10 AM Thursday morning.

  • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations from 1 to 4 inches. 
  • Higher accumulations of snow at higher elevations. 
 

West Virginia
Blizzard Warning remains in effect from 10 AM today until 10 AM Thursday.
  • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations from 4 to 8inches. 
  • Winds gusting as high as 45 mph.

    Winter Weather Advisory  remains in effect from 10 AM today until 10 AM Thursday.
  • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations from 2 to 4 inches. 
  • Winds gusting as high as 45 mph.
