Summary:

Another Arctic blast will surge south across the northern Plains Thursday night, crossing the Midwest and reaching the Gulf Coast Friday night. Confidence continues to increase for significant heavy snow across much of the Southern Appalachians, Carolinas, and southern Mid-Atlantic Friday into Sunday.
 
 

Louisiana

Flood Warning remains in effect until from Friday night through Monday morning.  

  • Minor flooding is forecast. 

Mississippi

Flood Warning remains in effect until early Friday afternoon. 

  • Minor flooding is forecast. 

Alabama

Flood Warning remains in effect until Friday evening. 

  • Minor flooding of the Buttahatchie River. 

Tennessee

Winter Storm Watch remains in effect from Friday afternoon through late Saturday night.  

  • Total snow accumulations between 3 and 7 inches are possible.
  • Winds gusting as high as 35 mph. 

Georgia

Winter Storm Watch remains in effect from Friday afternoon through late Sunday morning.  

  • Total snow accumulations between 1 and 2 inches are possible.
  • Winds gusting as high as 35 mph. 

South Carolina

Winter Storm Watch remains in effect from Friday afternoon through late Saturday night.  

  • Total snow accumulations between 3 and 7 inches are possible.
  • Winds gusting as high as 35 mph. 

North Carolina

Winter Storm Watch remains in effect from Friday afternoon through late Saturday night.  

  • Total snow accumulations between 3 and 7 inches are possible.
  • Winds gusting as high as 35 mph. 

Virginia

Winter Storm Watch remains in effect from Friday afternoon through late Sunday afternoon.  

  • Total snow accumulations between 4 and 8 inches are possible.
  • Winds gusting as high as 35 mph. 

New York

Lake Effect Snow Warning remains in effect until 7 pm tonight.

  • Snow accumulations between 1 to 2 feet today across Oswego County.
  • Additional accumulations of 6 to 12 inches.  

Additional Dense Fog Advisory included but not limited to:   California. 

Additional Winter Weather Advisory included but not limited to: Washington, Wyoming, South Dakota, Michigan, and New York.

Additional Cold Weather Watch included but not limited to: Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Kentucky, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, West Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, and Maine.
