U.S. Weather Update 9.22.2022

Summary:
Across the Four Corners region, flash, urban, and small stream flooding impacts continue to remain possible. In the northern Rockies, isolated flash, urban, and small stream flooding impacts are possible due to periods of heavy rainfall. Flash flooding and debris flows are possible over recently burned areas.


Arizona
Flood Advisory remains in effect until this evening

  • Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected
  • Impacts: Flash flooding will be possible in creeks, normally dry washes, swimming holes and over recently burned areas. Low-water crossings could also experience flash flooding, which would create deadly travel conditions.

South Dakota
Wind Advisory remains in effect until 6PM MDT this evening

  • Southeast winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Sudden wind gusts can cause drivers to lose control, especially in lightweight or high profile vehicles. Strong winds can cause blowing dust, reduced visibility, and flying debris.
