U.S. Weather Update 9.21.22

Summary:
In the Four Corners region, considerable flood impacts are possible into Thursday evening primarily across southwestern Colorado, southeast Utah, northeast Arizona, and northwest New Mexico. Scattered thunderstorms will be capable of producing large hail and damaging winds from Utah into Idaho and in a separate area over the Lower Great Lakes mainly Wednesday afternoon into evening. 


Arizona 
Flood Advisory remains in effect until 9 PM MST this evening

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected
  • Impacts: Flash flooding will be possible in creeks, normally dry washes, swimming holes and over recently burned areas. Low-water crossings could also experience flash flooding, which would create deadly travel conditions. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded.
