Weather Update 9.15.21 - U.S.

Summary: Currently located in southwest Louisiana, Tropical Depression Nicholas will continue to linger over Louisiana into late this week, where heavy rainfall will impact the north Gulf Coast through early Friday with potentially life-threatening flash and urban flooding and widespread river flooding, including locations still recovering from Hurricane Ida. Isolated strong to severe storms are possible across the Ohio Valley into the Northeast with the threats of damaging winds, large hail, and a few tornadoes.  Additionally, two more tropical disturbances are developing in the Atlantic, one sitting near Bermuda and the other sitting off the coast of Africa; both are expected to strengthen over the next several days. Freight embargoes are in place for freight destined to areas affected by Ida and Nicholas. Advisories: Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida

Moderate to locally heavy rain will affect areas across LA, MS, AL, and FL through Friday
