Summary: Ida is weakening as it tracks further inland, but will continue to produce heavy rainfall while tracking inland through the Southeast U.S., eventually crossing the Appalachians, then off of the Mid-Atlantic Coast on Thursday. Considerable flash and urban flooding impacts will continue today across the Southeast and tomorrow and Wednesday from the Tennessee Valley into the Mid-Atlantic. Flood Advisories: Louisiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey, Delaware, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island
Flooding Rainfall
  • Western FL Panhandle, east/north AL, and north GA
    • 1-3 inches additional rainfall
    • Through Wednesday morning
  • Mid TN Valley to OH Valley, central/south Appalachians, and mid-Atlantic
    • 3-6 inches of rain
    • Through Thursday morning
  • Southern New England
    • 2-4 inches of rain
    • Wednesday into Thursday
Tornadoes
Isolated tornadoes are frequently a concern with inland tropical cyclones.
  • FL Panhandle and east AL to GA, southern Appalachians
    • Tuesday
  • Mid-Atlantic and eastern Carolinas
    • Wednesday
