U.S. Weather Update 8.25.23

Summary:
The extremely dangerous heat wave will continue the next few days. On Friday, the sultry conditions will stretch from the Plains to the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast. Then over the weekend, sweltering conditions will concentrate and focus in the Southern U.S. Impacted Lanes: I-80, I-76, I-77, I-64, I-81, I-95, I-84, I-91, I-395, I-495


Ohio
Flood Warning remains in effect until 5 PM EDT this evening

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
  • Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Water over roadways is possible. 

New Jersey
Flood Advisory remains in effect until 10:30 AM EDT this morning

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
  • Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways.

South Dakota
Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 9 AM CDT this morning

  • Visibility a quarter mile or less in dense fog.
  • Impacts: Hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility.

Colorado
Flood Watch remains in effect until 9 AM MDT Saturday morning

  • Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
  • Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Water over roadways is possible.
