Summary:
Hilary is expected to produce a potentially historic amount of rainfall that may cause life-threatening to locally catastrophic flash, urban, and arroyo flooding including landslides, mudslides, and debris flows through early Monday morning. Strong winds may down trees and power lines, and large swells may produce dangerous surf and rip currents. Impacted Lanes: I-8, I-10, I-5, I-80, I-15, I-40, I-84, I-90, I-17, I-110


California
Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 9 AM PDT this morning

  • Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
  • Impacts: Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

Flood Warning remains in effect until 10:15 AM PDT this morning

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
  • Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. It will take several hours for all the water from these storms to work through local drainage systems in urban areas.

Flood Watch remains in effect until 11 PM PDT this evening

  • Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
  • Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of small creeks, streams, roadways, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded.

Flood Advisory remains in effect until 8 AM PDT this morning

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is occurring.
  • Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. Some low-water crossings may become impassable.

Wind Advisory remains in effect until 8 AM PDT this morning

  • Southeast to south winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects and make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

Utah
High Wind Warning remains in effect until 9 PM MDT this evening

  • South winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph expected.
  • Impacts: High winds may move loose debris, damage property and cause power outages. Travel will be difficult due to crosswinds, especially for high profile vehicles and vehicles with trailers.

Wind Advisory remains in effect until 9 PM MDT this evening

  • South winds 25 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. A few power outages are possible. Travel could be difficult due to crosswinds, especially for high profile vehicles and vehicles with trailers.

Flood Watch remains in effect until 9 PM MDT this evening

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
  • Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, roadways, recently burned areas, slot canyons, normally dry washes and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
