U.S. Weather Update 6.25.24

Summary:
Severe thunderstorms are possible across the Central Plains into the central Great Lakes Tuesday afternoon and evening. Damaging winds, large hail, and a tornado or two may occur. A Slight Risk (level 2 of 5) of severe thunderstorms is in effect. A heat wave will continue into Tuesday from the Great Plains into the lower Mississippi River Valley and in northern Florida. Impacted Lanes: I-90, I-29, I-35, I-80, I-74, I-88, I-39, I-43, I-94, I-75, I-96, I-69


Minnesota 
Flood Warning remains in effect until 10 AM CDT this morning

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
  • Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable. It will take several hours for all the water from these storms to work through local drainage systems in urban areas.

Wisconsin
Flood Advisory remains in effect until 9:15 AM CDT this morning

  • Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
  • Impacts: Water over roadways. Overflowing poor drainage areas.

Additional Flood Warnings include but are not limited to: South Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska, Missouri, and Texas
