U.S. Weather Update 6.1.23

Summary:
Scattered showers and thunderstorms with the potential for isolated flash flooding and severe weather continue from the Intermountain West through the Plains into the weekend. This threat also extends into Florida as we are monitoring a disturbance in the Gulf of Mexico. Also, new record high temperatures are forecast for the Upper Midwest, Great Lakes and Northeast into the weekend. Impacted Lanes: I-75, I-95, I-4, I-40, I-27, I-70, I-80, I-29, I-35


Nebraska
Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 9:30 AM CDT this morning

  • Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
  • Impacts: Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. 

Flood Watch remains in effect until 11 PM MDT Saturday evening

  • Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
  • Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, roadways, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

Texas
Flood Warning remains in effect until 11:45 AM CDT this morning

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
  • Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable. 

Flood Advisory remains in effect until 11:45 AM CDT Saturday morning

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
  • Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable. 

Flood Watch remains in effect until 6 PM CDT this evening

  • Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
  • Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded.

Additional Flood Advisories include but are not limited to: Nevada, Colorado, New Mexico, and Florida

Additional Flood Watches include but are not limited to: Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Mississippi, and Florida

Additional Flood Warnings include but are not limited to: Idaho, North Dakota, and South Dakota
