Summary:
Widespread showers and thunderstorms will continue to bring a flooding threat over the central and eastern Gulf Coast through Friday. Heavy rainfall is likely to persist over Florida into the weekend. Scattered strong to severe thunderstorms are expected over the Rio Grande Valley and over the Southern Appalachians Thursday afternoon and evening. Strong winds and hail will be the primary threats. Impacted Lanes: I-44, I-49, I-40, I-55, I-65, I-24, I-22, I-20, I-59, I-85, I-88, I-87, I-90, I-91, I-84, I-95


Mississippi
Flood Warning remains in effect until 2 PM CDT this afternoon

  • Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
  • Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Water is over roadways and numerous roads may be closed due to flooding. 

Flood Advisory remains in effect until 7 PM CDT Sunday evening

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
  • Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. 

Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 9 AM CDT this morning

  • Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog.
  • Impacts: Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous.

Massachusetts
Flood Watch remains in effect until 8 AM EDT Saturday morning

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
  • Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Water over the roadways is possible and expected.
