Summary:
Severe thunderstorms are possible across parts of the southern Plains Thursday, with large hail the main threat. A few instances of 2+ inch diameter hail are possible. A storm system moving north along the New England coast will bring heavy rain and gusty winds to the region Thursday and Friday. Pennsylvania
Flood Watch remains in effect until 3 PM EDT this afternoon
- Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
- Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Water may be over roadways.
Delaware
Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 9 PM EDT this evening
- Up to one half foot of inundation above ground level expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.
- Impacts: Flooding begins on the most vulnerable roads in coastal and bayside communities, and along inland tidal waterways. Some partial or full road closures are possible.
California
Wind Advisory remains in effect until 11 PM PDT Friday evening
- West winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.
- Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Highways impacted include, but are not limited to California State Routes 14, 58, and 178, as well as US Route 395. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
