U.S. Weather Update 5.21.25

Summary:
Heavy to excessive rainfall may lead to flooding Wednesday over southwest Pennsylvania into northern West Virginia, and western Maryland. Flood Watches have been issued. An extended period of hot weather will continue for parts of coastal southern California including Los Angeles through Thursday. Heat Advisories remain in effect. Impacted Lanes: I-55, I-10, I-49, I-95, I-64, I-76, I-70, I-80, I-99, I-86, I-90, I-75, I-43, I-94


Pennsylvania
Flood Watch remains in effect until 5 AM EDT Thursday morning

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
  • Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Water over roadways. 

Louisiana
Flood Warning remains in effect until 1 AM CDT Sunday morning

  • Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
  • Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Water is over roadways. 

Flood Advisory remains in effect until further notice

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
  • Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. 

Additional Flood Warnings include but are not limited to: Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Arkansas, and Mississippi

Additional Flood Advisories include but are not limited to: North Carolina, and Virginia

Additional Flood Watches include but are not limited to: Maryland, and West Virginia
