Weather Update 5.20.21 - U.S.

Heavy rain across the Gulf Coasts of Texas and Louisiana will continue to result in a significant flood risk into this weekend., and severe thunderstorms with large hail and wind damage will be possible Thursday across parts of the northern High Plains. Meanwhile, a deep upper-level low over the Pacific Northwest will advance southward to California and the Great Basin.  The associated upper-level trough will help produce late-season snow over parts of the Pacific Northwest, Northern Rockies, Great Basin, and the higher elevations of California. Active Advisories: Oregon, California, Idaho, Montana

Snow occurring across the northern Sierra Nevada
  • 2 inches additional snow
  • Until midnight tonight

Winter Weather Advisory
Snow continuing today above 5500ft across the panhandle
  • 2-7 inches of snow
  • Until 6 AM MDT Friday
Montana
Winter Storm Warning
Heavy snow continuing today across western MT
  • 12-24 inches of mountain snow
  • 5-12 inches of valley snow
  • Until 9 AM MDT Friday
 
Flood Warnings are in effect across parts of Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi. High Winds are occurring across parts of California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, Montana, and Florida
