U.S. Weather Update 5.19.25

Summary:
Severe thunderstorms capable of large hail, damaging winds, and potentially strong to intense tornadoes remain possible Sunday night. Enhanced risks of severe thunderstorms have been issued Monday across portions of the central and southern Plains into the Ozarks then on Tuesday across portions of the Ohio, Mid-Mississippi, and Tennessee Valleys. Impacted Lanes: I-40, I-5, I-10, I-25, I-27, I-90, I-80, I-94, I-29, I-49, I-44, I-70


New Mexico
High Wind Warning remains in effect until 10 PM MDT this evening

  • West winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 70 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Wind Advisory remains in effect until 7 PM MDT this evening

  • West winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs may be blown down. Expect strong crosswinds on area roadways. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Wyoming
Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 6 AM MDT Tuesday morning

  • Snow expected. Snow accumulations between 5 and 10 inches. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph.
  • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.

Flood Watch remains in effect until 6 PM MDT this evening

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
  • Impacts: Excessive runoff from a long duration rainfall will cause elevated flows on rivers and streams, and may result in flooding of small streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Water over roadways is expected. 

Florida
Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM EDT this morning

  • Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog.
  • Impacts: Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous.

Arkansas
Flood Warning remains in effect until further notice

  • Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
  • Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Water is over roadways and numerous roads may be closed due to flooding. 

Flood Advisory remains in effect until further notice

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
  • Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. 

Flood Watch remains in effect until 10 AM CDT Tuesday morning

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
  • Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded.
